കീര്‍ത്തിചക്ര, കുരുക്ഷേത്ര എന്നീ സിനിമകളുടെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായാണ് മേജര്‍ രവി കാണ്ഡഹാര്‍ എടുത്തത്. അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചനെ ആദ്യമായി മലയാളത്തിലവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഒരിടവേളയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം സുമലത തിരിച്ചെത്തി. അഭിയും നാനും, ഉന്നൈപ്പോല്‍ ഒരുവന്‍ എന്നീ സിനിമകളിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായ ഗണേഷ് വെങ്കിട്ടരാമന്‍ ഒരു പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രമായെത്തി. ഇവരൊക്കെയുണ്ടായിട്ടും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നത് ഒന്നുമാത്രമാണ് - നല്ല തിരക്കഥ. സിനിമ എന്നാല്‍ കുട്ടിക്കളിയല്ലെന്ന് ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണ് കാണ്ഡഹാറിന്‍റെ പരാജയം.
